What Is A Community Education Credit Course? (CEC)
LLU is a Community Education Association that provides education opportunities exclusively for faith-based 501c3 non-profit tax-exempt and/or faith-based businesses, churches/ministries, grassroots organizations, and special healthcare service providers. Our education options range from beginner to advanced topics including community association operations, how to lead and manage people with excellence, and how to avoid costly mistakes. Some of our education programs lead to professional designations.
Community Education Credits is structured educational and training experiences for faith-based leadership or professional development in which participants are assumed to have previously attained a basic level of education, training, and/or activity experience. The Association for Community Education & Training Credits is a membership organization whereas theCriterion Accountability Review Board oversees the certification of education credits offered by approved Certified Authorized Providers who are responsible for the design and/or delivery of an educational course or program. The terms, course, program, and activity are used interchangeably when referring to Community Education Credits. A course or program may be taught in different time frames such as one hour, one day, or over a period of days, weeks, or months. Unlike Continuing Education Credits governed by the National Council on Continuing Education Units and open to individuals and secular organizations, a Certificate of Community Education Credits are exclusively designed to provide service learning experience/education and training to faith-based leadership, and service providers. Also, unlike CEU hours that are awarded through a decimal point system, our Community Education Credits are based on awarding one contact hour per educational experience up to 50 minutes of contact education. Liken to CEU credits, our contact hours are also defined as ten contact hours of successful participation/completion in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. A Certificate awarding CECs will be presented upon satisfactory completion of a course. Transcripts listing Community Education Credits are available for participants upon request. Course Distance Learning is not allowed for CECs since programs are designed for contact service learning experiences.
