“Socks For Life” Campaign and Ps. 18 “STEP-N-UP” RUTH CAMPAIGN MISSION
Every six seconds a woman and her children are living on the edge of life and death as a result of Domestic violence. Dr. Sandy Murphy had a vision from God that women and men could help encourage and instill hope for women who are afraid to take “steps” away from violent relationships though the “Socks for Life” Campaign.
By doing so, the “Socks for Life” Campaign will feature anointed socks with the logo “Ps.18 STEP-N-UP RUTH” uniquely designed by Dr. Murphy. The Ps.18 STEP-N-UP RUTH socks will be $8.00 a pair and the proceeds will be used to help defray the cost of the operational funds for the “Loosing The Persecuted Preacher-Woman” Inner-Healing & Ministry Development Retreat, scheduled for September 30, through October 2, 2005.

In observance of October as Domestic Violence awareness month, the Retreat will be the ministry’s kick-off outreach service that will lead up to the city-wide 2005 Church Address Against Domestic Violence & Murder Among Christian Homes. Communities at-large are asked to donate socks for women and children, sleepwear, bras, diapers, and baby formula to support women and children survivors in Domestic Violence Shelters.
The primary mission of Ps.18 STEP-N-UP RUTH “Socks for Life” is to exemplify the spirit of Ruth as described in verses 36 and 48 of Psalms 18. Whereas, Ps. 18:36 describes how the Lord will enlarge her steps and keep her from becoming utterly destroyed as she turns her heart to God. Then, in Psalms 18:48 the Lord reminds her that He will deliver her from the violent man and as she steps-up into a greater faith and believe that God is the lover of her soul, redeemer, and deliverer, she will break free!
The socks have been anointed and prayed over by Dr. Murphy, a survivor of domestic violence who believes that an increase of faith in God and the spirit of Ruth will rise up in the hearts of hurting or battered women the moment they put the socks on their feet. Women will become spiritually empowered to “step-up” and “step-out” of their crisis or violent relationships. Dr. Murphy also believes that the Spirit of the Lord will bring liberty enabling them to return to their first love, Jesus; who will help them spiritually discern a “Boaz” like Ruth did, before they get tied-up and hurt by a Bozo!
